Welcome to the first ever Cherry and Cinnamon stitch-able Valentine card !
This Valentines day you can stitch up your sweetheart a special card to remember. Inspired by vintage tattoo designs these two hearts are pierced by the same arrow! Just follow the dots with a simple backstitch to complete the design.
Included are two different variations of this card you can choose to stitch the message be mine, Valentine, or use the version with the blank banners and write in your own message in ink.
The design prints out in black and white, and you choose what colours to add with embroidery floss! I recommend using 2 strands of floss doubled over, to get a nice thick line that will show up well on the card.
You can also add a little colour with crayons, pencils or water colour paints before or after you stitch, for an extra little dimension. Make them as elaborate or simple as you wish.
All you need to do to get started is print them out, pre- prick the holes with a hat pin or darning needle- and get stitching. This a great project for beginners or kids. (Make sure an adult helps out with the pricking part!)
For the more experience stitcher, also included is a version for use as an embroidery pattern for fabric. This looks super pretty stitched up and framed in a 6 in hoop, or used as an embellishment in other sewing projects. You may scale the pattern up or down, but please use for personal projects only.

FREE Little Red embroidery pattern
Stitch up a parliament of owls with this easy embroidery pattern. I designed the owls so you could stitch them on their branches, or just trace the owls and stitch them solo. Add them to a T-shirt or pair of jeans, a tea towel, a hankie, cloth napkins, a table runner, a breadcloth - if you can get it in a hoop you can stitch it!
These look complicated, but they use only 6 stitches - all of them easy to do. (The pattern has links to free videos teaching you how to do them.)
Expect to spend 3-4 nights stitching up the entire image - less, of course, if you're only stitching one or two owls.
I had fun stitching these in a wide range of colors - they ended up being Times Square sorts of night owls - but they'd be beautiful stitched up in a more neutral palette. I'd love to see them in grays and browns on a black background.
The total image is roughly 6 1/2 inches square. The largest owl is a smidge over 3 inches tall and the twins are each about 1 1/2 inches tall. But don't be limited by the size of the pattern! You can easily enlarge or reduce any embroidery pattern to make it just the size you want.

The stitching is easy - just four simple stitches - and the pattern has links to videos teaching you all of them.
The tallest monster is about 4 1/2 inches tall; the shortest is about 2 1/2 inches.
These are super-fast to stitch up - except for the froggy-looking guy on blue. All those satin stitched stripes took a few hours. :-) Of course, you can skip the satin stitching if you like and finish each monster in 1-2 hours.

I love them and I've continued to doodle them after that class - and now I offer them to you. Each girl is about 3 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide.
